Jabooda Cares (EIN 99-4589825) is committed to respecting the privacy of every donor. We value your trust and handle your information with care. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect donor information, and complements our general Privacy Policy.
What Information We Collect
When you make a donation, we collect the information needed to process your gift and issue a tax receipt: your name, mailing address, email address, donation amount, date, and payment method. For online donations processed through Zeffy, payment card details are handled securely by Stripe and are never stored on our systems.
How We Use Donor Information
We use your information to process and acknowledge your gift, provide an IRS-compliant tax receipt, communicate with you about the impact of your giving (if you opt in), and maintain accurate financial records as required by law.
What We Will Never Do
We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for any purpose. We will never share your donor information with other nonprofit or commercial organizations. We will never send you unsolicited communications unrelated to your gift unless you explicitly opt in.
Anonymous Giving
We respect your right to give anonymously. If you indicate that you prefer your gift to remain anonymous, we will not include your name in any public donor acknowledgment, annual report listing, or website recognition. Your information will still be maintained in our internal records for tax and legal compliance purposes only.
Public Acknowledgment
We will only publicly acknowledge your gift (in annual reports, on our website, or in communications) if you have given us explicit permission to do so. During the donation process, we ask whether you consent to public acknowledgment. You may change your preference at any time by contacting us.
Data Retention
We retain donor records for a minimum of seven years to comply with IRS requirements and nonprofit accounting standards. After that period, records may be securely destroyed unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Your Rights
At any time, you may request to see the information we have on file for you, correct any inaccuracies in your donor record, opt out of future communications, change your acknowledgment preferences, or request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention requirements).
